DEPUTY for Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment at the National Capital Authority (IKN) Nusantara, Alimuddin, emphasized that his party fully protects the rights of indigenous communities around IKN.
“Customary rights are protected in IKN, there are no arbitrary evictions, development will continue to develop. But indigenous peoples are protected, communities are protected, so everything is protected in IKN. There is nothing arbitrary,” he said when met in Jakarta on Thursday (14/3).
Furthermore, Alimuddin stated that all indigenous communities, especially in North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU), supported the construction of IKN.
“We need discussion, outreach to them, they support all IKN,” he stressed.
In accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 39 of 2023, he said, the PP states the procedures for land acquisition by the government. Both land acquisition which will be replaced with money, land acquisition which will be replaced with more land.
“So the point is that there is no arbitrariness in the land acquisition process. There will still be in-depth socialization by name by address. Our indigenous people will protect it, the authorities will protect it,” he explained. (Z-6)
