PC gaming is growing like crazy, according to a new Report, it has surpassed consoles in terms of revenue – its total market value in the United States is estimated to be more than $45 billion to date. This is comparable to gaming consoles, which together account for regarding $30 billion.
However, PCs now trump consoles not only in terms of market value, but also in terms of number of gamers. Owning a good-looking gaming PC has become mainstream and widely accepted, with Steam, Game Pass, EA Play, and the Epic Games Store already paving the way.
So, does this mean consoles will soon be a thing of the past?Yes, there are some developers who certainly believe this to be the case, includingNaoki Yoshida who is known for being responsible for many of the recent Final Fantasy games – and he spoke in a recent interview regarding how he’s convinced that this or the next generation of consoles will be the last.
