Chittoor ∙ Palakkad’s Sachin Suresh took the field for Kerala on Tamil soil. Suresh’s son Sachin (25), a native of Nallepilli Meppallam, batted for the Kerala team in the Buchi Babu All India Invitational Cricket Tournament yesterday. The tournament will be held in Tirunelveli till 11th of next month. Yesterday, Sachin entered the field against Tamil Nadu. Sachin Suresh is the number one wicket keeper in the tournament led by Sachin Baby.
His father, Suresh, who is a cricket lover and a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar, gave the name to his son. At a young age, Sachin showed a performance that gave meaning to his name on the fields. He joined the district team at the age of 14. The U19 Kerala team performed well in the U23 and U25 tournaments. Was selected in the Ranji squad and Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali in the Kerala squad for the tournament but did not get a chance to play.
Sachin’s cricket career started at Nallepilli Annanthode Maidan.
