The Conservative leader launched his health and sports plan on the grounds of the TELUS stadium at Laval University. He was also accompanied by former Rouge et Or player Arnaud Gascon-Nadon, who acts as coordinator for the selection of candidates for Mr. Duhaime’s campaign. The latter also wore a Rouge et Or jersey.

A few hours following the press briefing, the sports team responded with a tweet. “The Rouge et Or works in university sport and not in politics”, was it written in particular.

“I support the Rouge et Or, but I never said that the Rouge et Or supported me. I have always been a fan, I was even in the stands when Arnaud was on the pitch. We asked the Rouge et Or to hold the event here, we were authorized to hold our press briefing here, but there is no support in any form, ”said Éric Duhaime.
