It’s still hard to imagine that big things are regarding to happen to the small town of Gmünd in the northwestern Waldviertel. That thousands of fish will soon be swimming over the brown arable land between the forest and industrial halls. That the largest indoor salmon farm in Austria will soon be located there, right on the border with the Czech Republic. The salmon – not from aquaculture in Norway or wild salmon from the Atlantic, but directly from the Waldviertel?
