The Public Prosecution’s investigations into the driver accused of trying to kidnap Habiba Al-Shamaa, “Shorouk Girl,” revealed many behind the scenes of the incident.
During his investigation, the driver revealed that he had taken narcotic substances before the incident and before the victim rode with him, as well as taking narcotic substances after the accident.
A drug test conducted by the Public Prosecution of the accused revealed that the driver had taken marijuana and was driving his car while under the influence of the drug.
The Public Prosecution ordered that the accused of attempting to kidnap the victim, Habiba Al-Shamaa, be referred to the competent criminal court. It was proven from the Public Prosecution’s investigations that when he asked the first person to see the victim – trying to help her – after she threw herself from the accused’s car, she mentioned to him that the accused wanted to kidnap her, and she said in text: “Uber wanted to kidnap me,” and that the legal representative of the “Uber” company testified. The accused had previously had his account closed through the company’s application, due to the large number of complaints from users of the application against him, but he created another account by using another national number through which he was able to reuse the application. The Public Prosecution copied a copy of the papers that it allocated to investigate this forgery incident, as I reviewed. Complaints were filed against the accused with the company he works for. One of them included a complaint by a woman who decided that he had physically harassed her.
The investigations also revealed that the accused had consumed the narcotic substance of hashish, according to the results of the analysis of the blood and urine samples taken from him, as proven by the forensic medical report.
