LONDON, June 30 / WAM / The British economy grew by 0.1% in the first quarter of this year, without adjusting from preliminary estimates published last month, according to data from the United Kingdom’s National Statistics Office today.

The Archyde.com news agency quoted the office as saying that the British gross domestic product in the first quarter of this year was 0.5% lower compared to the last quarter of 2019 before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and this percentage is also in line with previous estimates.

Britain’s economic recovery since the COVID-19 pandemic has been much slower than almost all large developed economies; Last month, the Bank of England predicted that the British economy would grow by only 0.25% this year.
