On December 24, Claude Meunier and Serge Thériault participated in a special radio show on ICI Première. It was the first time in twenty years that the long-time accomplices participated in an interview together. And Claude Meunier was able to see that his friend was in good shape. “He found a kind of peace, a kind of happiness, a joy of being there,” he says.

Hosted by Stéphane Laporte, the two-hour special show, called The snowflakes reunited!allowed several friends of Meunier and Thériault, such as Marc Messier, Guylaine Tremblay and Michel Rivard, to pay tribute to the two comedians.

“I was very surprised by the extent of the interview,” mentions Claude Meunier to Journal. There were plenty of surprises. We knew absolutely nothing. And the guests were so generous. It was very moving.”

What came out of this interview is how good Serge Thériault seems. The famous interpreter of Môman, who withdrew from the spotlight for several years, made a name for himself by appearing briefly in the last episode of the new season of Little Life. And he also participated in a special show on Les Boys.

“He decided to surround himself well at the medical level,” says Claude. He looks better. But it’s up to him to talk about it! I never liked talking about Serge’s condition. I think it comes down to him. But he looks pretty good these days. It was fun to see that.”

Friends for 50 years

The two friends began talking regularly again. “We resumed a kind of communication that was less there because Serge no longer spoke to anyone,” says Claude. But he reconnected with everyone. And that’s a lot. We’ve been friends for about 50 years.”

In the ICI Première show, Serge Thériault even let it be known that he would like to return to the spotlight and that the public had not finished hearing about him. Would Claude Meunier see himself doing a project with him again?

“It’s up to him to see what he wants to do,” he replies. There is no doubt that he has not lost his talent. I don’t know what he wants to do, really, honestly. We didn’t talk about it.”

Serge Thériault recently went into the studio with Claude Meunier to lend his voice to two songs from La Famille Denuy’s western project. The two friends remade the songs from the era of Paul and Paul, Hello Huguette et It’s Christmas for a future album.

Thériault could even join Meunier on stage to do one or two songs. “But we’re not here right now. Nothing is confirmed with any guest,” explains Claude.
