The son of Taisiya Povaliy renounced the “Russian position” of his mother

Ukrainian singer Denis Povaliy, the son of artist Taisiya Povaliy, commented on his mother’s performances in Russia. Since the beginning of the Russian special operation, the Ukrainian artist has been strongly criticized in her homeland for not condemning what is happening and continues to perform in Russia. In particular, Povaliy sang a Ukrainian song at a concert in Moscow on May 9th.

On the social network, the singer’s son posted a post on the same day in which he remembered the history of the family – the death of his great-grandfather in the Great Patriotic War, the death of another even “during the advent of Soviet power.” He also wrote that his father was in Afghanistan and in his childhood the family did not celebrate the end of that war in any way, there was only “sadness in the eyes of memories.” Post Denis Povaliy accompanied his photo with the shadow of a dove flying over him.

“Let our world also soar and be cleansed of evil and hatred,” he wrote, “even though we again have good reasons to hate …”

He urged his subscribers not to write in the comments about his mother, noting that he had nothing to do with her political position. The post of Denis Povaliy caused a stir in social networks, in a number of telegram channels there were reports that he allegedly “renounced his mother.” It is worth noting that this does not follow from the words of the man – only that he does not support the mother’s opinion about what is happening. On his page on a social network banned in the Russian Federation, he retained all the previous posts with his parent, although there were no new joint photos with his mother over the past two months either. Povaliy herself has not published anything at all on social networks for a long time.

“Don’t just talk about mom here, ok?” he concluded his post. “It’s a completely separate, her story, and I have nothing to do with her.”
