A call for expression of interest has just been launched by the Ministry of Finance to select a consultant who will accompany him in the final phase of the restructuring of the Commercial Bank-Cameroon (CBC), 98% owned by the treasure.

The assistance will relate to the methods and the chronogram of the withdrawal of the State from the round table of the bank. According to the terms of reference, the consultant will assist the government during all stages of the process: compliance with the legal prerequisites necessary for the operation, selection of all the various service providers – business lawyers, chartered accountant, financial analyst, banking expert, experts in social law and HR, etc

This consultant will also support the State in the conduct of the stock market operation and prepare a call for tenders for the selection of the future reference shareholder for the CBC. Application files are expected by April 5, 2022 at the latest. According to the plan provided by the restructuring plan, the State plans to withdraw from the CBC according to the following diagram: sale of 51% of the capital to a partner strategy and opening of 30% of the bank’s funding round to investors on the CEMAC Stock Exchange (Bvmac). The treasure would keep the remainder.
