The storm of Pongo and Pinzigau

Roads and rail lines are temporarily closed.

A storm from Tirol reached Pinzgau and Pongau at around 7 pm on Sunday evening. The Salzburg Fire Department reported numerous storm and flooding operations as mudslides occurred on streets and railway lines, cellars were flooded and roofs were covered. After Wald, Kriml and Lund in the Pinzgau region, Zell am See and Bischofshofen are severely affected. As of 10:30 p.m., some roads were still closed. However, services have resumed on the rail line near St. John’s, which was closed for nearly an hour.
