the story of a motorcycle encounter

According to the dictionary they are motorcyclists for the simple fact of driving a motorcycle. But everyone calls them bikers, and that word doesn’t just talk about people who ride two wheels, but people who love to ride motorcycles. Bikers brave unknown roads, show your driving skills. Riding a motorcycle is their way of life, a choice that they like to share from time to time. On this occasion, to honor the passion they have for the wind to hit them in the face, they chose Playas Doradas, as a meeting place.

First Motomeeting in Playas Doradas.

From Friday of this long weekend, lhe streets of Playas Doradas became the venue for the first motorcycle meeting in the south. Andrea from Playas Doradas and Carlos Flores from Bahía Blanca, in October began to organize this meeting that was lived with joy, it is not over yet and already promises a new edition.

Andrea is the only motorcyclist in the spa town, she has lived there for six years. In 2010 he bought his first motorcycle and without knowing how to drive he got into a world that he is passionate about, but it was not easy. “It was difficult for me because I bought the motorcycle and got pregnant, so I couldn’t use it, becauseBut when I learned, I started to make trips, in my case not very long, only 200 kilometers. I began to participate in the motoencuentros, and it is to meet people, to help each other. There are people who have a wrong concept, but solidarity is a characteristic of all.

Carlos, at her side, continues with the story. He is hoarse from so much talking and singing. LThey arrived on Tuesday to set up gazebos and so on, but the storm on Wednesday and Thursday put some stones in the way. On Friday, the camp, in front of the municipal campsite, was ready. The stalls for artisans and tattoo artists were set up, light was installed and the motorcycles began to arrive. They hired two under bands from the national circuit, who played on a big stage. Also two bands from Chubut, one from San Antonio and two local ones.

“We had a record of more than 400 motorcycles. We received them on Friday night with a meal, it was an important number for what southern meetings are. One of the biggest ones that were held was the one at Choele Choel, which is no longer done and for us it was great to hold this first meeting, with a lot of people and if the weather had been better we would have overcome it”, says Carlos.

The event was sponsored by the municipality. Bikers from Córdoba, Mendoza, La Plata, from Buenos Aires, La Pampa, even Entre Ríos participated, from Chile they came from Punta Arenas and many from Río Negro and Neuquén.

“We wanted to do it, see what happened and it went so well. I got to know Playas Doradas a long time ago, because I travel for work. Tourism and culture people always opened the doors for us. When this date was released, because they should not overlap with other meetings, they began to put it together, ”said Carlos.

The meetings, for him, have three important factors. One, is that they go on a trip, and they make a route. That is what they enjoy the most even if there is wind, rain, cold, heat. The second thing is that they meet friends they haven’t seen for years or months and third is the party, because there are bands, they eat barbecue, they make caravans and they get to know places.

«Many people did not know Playas Doradas and they were amazed. They took advantage of leaving the property and going to the beach to enjoy the water. They also went out to tour the places to eat. The whole city was filled with people,” they say.

In the days that the meeting lasted, they told travel stories, of how they arrived. Luckily there were no accidents, only a couple of motorcycles broke down, but they fixed them together and continued their journey. “That is part of the compliment of serving friends. The motorcycle meeting is to return to friends the welcome they give you when you travel. Friends who welcome you into their home”assures the motorcyclist who appears in the networks as Águila de Puerto and celebrates that, after all, things turned out well.

In seven months of organization everything happened. Especially for him, who three months ago, returning from a motorcycle meeting in Necochea, had an accident that ended with the amputation of his leg. Many thought he would fail, but he kept going. «Physically I cannot do much but I said it is not suspended. A lot of people appreciated that. that he decides to do it anyway and it was another good reason to want to see them again, “said Águila de Puerto.

Andrea regrets that everything has passed like a gust: “It seems like a 15th birthday that you organize for a long time and you don’t know why it ends so quickly. But it was very nice to share, tEveryone was very happy and we are already talking about doing it again next year.
