It’s a UFO in the streaming platform sector, but 8 years following taking off, it’s still flying and hopes to extend the adventure for a long time. Created in 2015 as an association by filmmakers Pascale Ferran, Cédric Klapisch and Laurent Cantet, the LaCinetek platform offers streaming a catalog composed exclusively of works recognized by directors from around the world as their bedside films.
In this ideal film library, around 2,000 films, released more than 15 years ago and recommended by some 120 directors, are available for rental or download. Nearly 900 were previously unreleased in streaming before their release on the platform.
