The Swiss in the last four in Herning

Switzerland will play the semi-finals of the women’s world championship in Herning. In the quarter-finals, they qualified by beating Japan 2-1 tab.

The Swiss, deprived for this meeting of Noemi Rhyner, Laura Zimmermann (injured and out for the end of the Worlds), Lara Stalder and Alina Müller (Covid-19), were able to cope with these staffing problems. Japan took the lead thanks to a success from Makoto Ito (35th), before the equalizer signed Sinja Leemann (47th). The score did not move until the siren, as well as during the ten minutes of extra time.

It all came down to penalties. And in this exercise, the Swiss took the best: Alina Marti and Sinja Leemann succeeded in their penalty, while the first four Japanese shooters failed, resulting in the elimination of their team.

In the last four, Switzerland should face the United States. With the outsider sign, since the Americans won 9-0 once morest Colin Muller’s daughters in the preliminary round…
