the technical services invited to strengthen control and prevention

Diourbel, March 2 (APS) – The governor of the Diourbel region, Ibrahima Fall, on Thursday invited the decentralized technical services to set up a control and prevention system, on the occasion of the Magal de Serigne Sohaïbou Mbacké , to avoid the circulation of prohibited products, noted the APS.

This magal, which will be celebrated on the fifth day of the month of Ramadan, in Touba, commemorates the call to God of Serigne Sohaïbou Mbacké (1917-1991), son of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Khadimou Rassoul, the founder of Mouridism.

”For the control, we invited the technical services, in particular the customs, the trade and the breeding and each one as far as it is concerned, to set up a device of control and prevention, not only to protect the consumers, but also to prevent prohibited products from being on the market,” he said.

Mr. Fall spoke thus during a regional development committee (CRD) preparatory to this religious event.

The objective, he said, was to “review all the sectors for a good organization of the said Magal, on the instructions of the hierarchy which asks to accompany the organizing committee”.

In this regard, he assured that a security device will be put in place by the police and the gendarmerie, ”the day before Magal to avoid piloting on sight”.

For the water and sanitation sector, five tank trucks and twelve water tarpaulins will be made available to the organizing committee, to facilitate the supply of drinking water,” said the governor.

In the field of sanitation, he said, the commune of Touba-Mosquée and ONAS will support the organizing committee to empty the septic tanks at the level of the various concessions. According to him, they will rotate up to 200 for ONAS and 150 for the municipality of Touba-Mosque.

In the same vein, the medical region will set up a system with five advanced health posts, while the hygiene service will disinfect 200 concessions.
