With a few weeks to go until the end of the regular season, the NBA will soon split into two distinct groups. On the one hand the short-term ambitious teams, whose goal is therefore to win games, we agree, and on the other a few franchises whose ambitions are clearly turned towards the Draft, all the more so in this year which should crown Victor Wembanyama with the status of first pick.

Good deal of the day – Hornets, Wizards, Blazers and Spurs: everyone – or almost – did the job last night. Hornets tried to snag Cleveland – but only tried, Blazers dropped the deal, Spurs made Thunder for one contender and Washington ate a round in Philly. All this gives us a beautiful equally between Washington, Portland and Indiana: record of 31 wins for 37 losses, 6th, 7th and 8th chances in the lottery, Orlando is too far (28-40), behind the Bulls come back strong.

Bad trade of the day – Thunder and Lakers: because even when the Pelicans win, it’s the Lakers who take. Los Angeles will get the pick from New Orleans (and vice versa). One of the teams made the effort to lose. The other doesn’t have that time.
