The tour of the Grand Dukes, not the Tournée des Grands Cols

Set off to tackle the greatest passes in the Hautes-Alpes by bike on a completely secure route, such is the challenge offered to everyone on the occasion of the second edition of the Tournée des Grands Cols organized in the Hautes-Alpes. Alps from July 3 to 8.

The Tourist Offices of the Hautes Vallées, Guillestrois and Queyras, and of Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon in the Hautes-Alpes are joining forces to offer lovers of the little queen a week “Cols Réservés” between July 3 and 8 . For six days, cyclists will be able to climb the most beautiful passes of Queyras and Briançon in complete freedom and in complete safety. From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., it’s up to them to climb the Col de l’Échelle, Izoard, Granon, Agnel and Galibier on a road that is entirely reserved since it is closed to motorized vehicles.

Access will be free and open to all, without registration or ranking. At the top of each climb, a supply “Made in Hautes-Alpes” will be offered to participants.

Cycling enthusiasts will be able to follow in the footsteps of Tour de France riders and mythical slopes such as Agnel, Izoard, Granon, Galibier. Alongside these cycling monuments is the climb to the Col de l’Echelle which connects the Clarée Valley (Névache) to the Narrow Valley (Bardonecchia). Located at an altitude of 1,762m, the Col de l’Echelle connects France and Italy. On Saturday July 8, a Gravel session in the Queyras will close this week dedicated to two wheels in an original way! Fans of this discipline will be able to put their calves on a mountain route linking Guillestrois and Queyras.
