The last hours of Lee Sun-kyun’s life were marked by a desperate attempt to hide his murky legal problems from the public eye. According to TMZ reports, just four days before he was found dead in his car, the famous South Korean actor begged police authorities not to publicly reveal the investigation that involved him in the consumption of illegal drugs.

According to police officials, the lawyer for the protagonist of the hit film “Parasites” asked that the final session of questions to the press be closed this Saturday, pleading for privacy while relieving the intense media pressure that had overwhelmed him. Therefore, the actor wanted any future interrogations to be carried out in private, according to his lawyer. However, the request was rejected by the authorities.

Although Incheon Metropolitan Police Chief Kim Hui-jung expressed his regret over the tragic death of the 48-year-old actor, he reaffirmed that the line of questioning was carried out with Sun-kyun’s consent.

He was accused of using marijuana and other drugs at the residence of a hostess at a local bar on several occasions since the beginning of the year. According to Lee’s version, the woman had tried to fraudulently involve him in the consumption of narcotics to extort money from him.

Given the accusations, Sun-kyun’s defense demanded, one day before his death, that a polygraph test be carried out on both the actor and two suspects detained in relation to the case, a man and a woman, to prove innocence. which he held firmly. However, it is currently uncertain whether this test was carried out.
