On Sunday, October 15, a new edition of the Trail del Viento will be held and, with 400 runners confirmed, there will be a show in the mountains of northern Neuquén. Very early, at 7, the longest competitions will start, 30K and 50K, while at 10 it will be the turn of the 10 kilometers.
The accumulation of snow in the Cordillera del Viento can change the routes of longer distancesbut in any case the adrenaline is guaranteed and the best exponents of the region will go for the goal of getting on the podium in the different categories.
Accreditations will be on Saturday, at the Andacollo Amphitheater, from 12 to 5 p.m. There are full quotas and confirmation of athletes who will arrive from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Peru and France. The race is approved by the International Skyrunning Federation.
Technical details and 3D presentation
The 10K has a positive slope of 500 meters and it has a supply station at kilometer 4. On the 30K route there are three hydration stations: Huaraco Post, Cerro Corona path access post and El Llano Post. The positive slope is 1,450 meters. The 50K circuit, the ultra-distance test, has a positive slope of 3,000 meters.
The route was presented in 3D virtual reality on the Trail del Viento networks so that runners can learn about the route. The organization reported that they will wait until the last minute to confirm the route that reaches the summit of Cerro Corona.
