The treatments that the Formosa Nuclear Medicine Center will provide stand out

The Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Centerlocated on the grounds of the High Complexity Hospital, will bear the name of former president Dr. Néstor Kirchner who allowed Formosa “fulfill most dreams” through the Historical Reparation, as announced by the Governor of the province Gildo Insfrán.

The Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center soon to be inaugurated in Formosa will be for the care of cancer patients and other highly complex pathologiesso in the last year and a half it received technology and equipment adapted to meet the needs of patients who do not have social coverage and who need access to complex treatments.

Also, the Nuclear Medicine Center y Radiotherapywill benefit the oncology and cardiology patientsabove all, because they will be able to carry out the comprehensive treatment of their pathologies in the province since a stage – that of radiotherapy – forced them to move to medical centers located in provinces such as Corrientes, Chaco or Buenos Aires.

The National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) is the promoter of the project, while the company INVAP is in charge of carrying out the execution of the work and installation of equipment.

The infectious disease doctor Julián Bibolini gave his opinion on the forthcoming inauguration of the building of the Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Centernoting that at the last meeting of the Federal Health Council (COFESA), in Buenos Aires, they discussed that Formosa was preparing to inaugurate it.

In that sense, he stressed that as a member of the health area “It is a national and international pride to be able to count on this great complex” that in practice is working and treated its first 14 patients, located on the grounds of the High Complexity Hospital “Pte. Juan Domingo Peron

There, he also said:We are going to attract many patients so that they do not travel all the time to do the treatments outside the province, so it is really a historical milestone” adding that “comprehensive care will be provided”.

The Advanced Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center has first class equipment that will allow to face the diagnosis in cardiology, neurology and oncology areas, as well as the integral treatment of diverse pathologies.

It is divided into two: on the one hand, the area of ​​Nuclear Medicine, destined to the production of radiopharmaceuticals and determination by means of PET studies (Positron Emission Tomography). On the other hand, there is the Radiotherapy sector with equipment already installed.

The objective of this center is to guarantee equitable access to quality treatments and early diagnoses for the entire population through this public health policy.
