Four days ago, a paper was published in the ‘New England Journal of Medicine’, and it was the world’s first complete removal of cancer from all clinical patients suffering from advanced rectal cancer.

The study, led by researchers at the Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York, was testing the potential of monoclonal antibody therapy as a treatment for people with advanced rectal cancer.
Specifically, there were 12 clinical participants, with an average age of 54 years and 62% being women.
All of these patients had stage 2 or 3 rectal adenocarcinoma with inconsistent repair defects.

However, participants in this study did not receive any of these.
Instead, they received treatment with a specific type of monoclonal antibody once every three weeks for six months.
