The Flemish socialist, president of the Vooruit party, Conner Rousseau is in turmoil. Indeed, last September, the politician made racist and discriminatory remarks against the Roma, in a bar and under the influence of alcohol.

He also publicly apologized during an organized conference. “At one point, I began talking to police officers in an intoxicated state. Really, these Roma, we have to get rid of them. We can’t mess around with these guy,” the politician reportedly said.
He then allegedly went on to explain to the police officer that his entire building was racist and that he “understood them” explaining that they were often “swarthy men”. “You should use your baton a lot more often. I can’t clear out all these dark scum,” he reportedly explained.
