The trial of Santiago Escobar at the University of Chile is over. The U dismissed the Colombian strategist, after a series of bad results in command of the student squad. After the 2-0 loss against Audax Italiano, Azul Azul opted to take the Colombian off the bench, who suffered his sixth fall at the helm of the team, leaving him in 13th place in the National Tournament, two points from the direct relegation zone.
“Club Universidad de Chile informs its fans and public opinion that it has been agreed to terminate by mutual agreement the contractual relationship with Mr. Santiago Escobar Saldarriaga and his Technical Corps, who took office in December 2021,” the club reported, through a statement.
“As an institution, we recognize the commitment and work carried out by Santiago Escobar during these months, while we appreciate his dedication and professionalism. The Club wishes him and his coaching staff the greatest success in their future sports and personal projects, ”the letter from Azul Azul closed.
