All information about the draft

The NFL Draft is the highlight of the offseason. In the night from Thursday to Friday (02:00 a.m.) the drawing of the college talents starts with round 1. Rarely has the draft been so unpredictable in advance.

In fairness, the worst teams from the previous season get to pick their player first. The Chicago Bears “deserved” Pick 1, but traded their draft right with the Carolina Panthers. Now Commissioner Roger Goodell begins the draft with the legendary words: “The Carolina Panthers are on the clock…”.

It is the 88th draft in NFL history. The event will take place at Union Station and around the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri. A total of 259 players will be selected over three days and seven draft rounds.

The Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers all have no first-round picks due to trades this year. The Miami Dolphins’ Round 1 pick (it would have been pick 21) was disallowed by a franchise penalty. As a result, only 31 players will be selected this Thursday evening (local time).

Top Talents in the NFL Draft

The quarterback class is particularly exciting this year. Four talents in particular are traded early in the draft: CJ Stroud (Ohio State Buckeyes), Bryce Young (Alabama Crimson Tide), Will Levis (Kentucky Wildcats) and Anthony Richardson (Florida Gators). Will four playmakers be selected in the top four positions for the first time in draft history?

If you don’t need a quarterback, you have the chance of numerous prospects in other positions. Football fans should keep an eye out for Will Anderson (Edge Rusher, Alabama), Jalen Carter (Defensive Tackle, Georgia Bulldogs), Bijan Robinson (Runningback, Texas Longhorns), Devon Witherspoon (Cornerback, Illinois Fighting Illini) or Jaxon Smith- Njigba (wide receiver, Ohio State).

Three German footballers have also registered for the draft: Kilian Zierer, Lorenz Metz and Marlon Werthmann. No team will have them on their list for the first round. All three play on the offensive line. Especially Zierer, who played for the Allgäu Comets and the Munich Cowboys in Germany, could bring back memories of Sebastian Vollmer for some teams and would be interesting for them with a mid-round pick.
