The UNER obtained the financing for the Veterinary Medicine School Hospital – Society

The launching ceremony of the second stage of the National University Infrastructure Program was led by the Ministers of Education, Jaime Perczyk, and of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis.

In this framework, the rector Andrés Sabella signed the agreement through which the National University of Entre Ríos will receive financing to build classrooms and laboratories, which will be part of the School Hospital of the Veterinary Medicine career.

The work, managed by the Financial Economic Secretariat of the UNER, responds to a need for spaces for the development of academic and research activities, as well as professional practices. It contemplates the construction of four functional blocks that will constitute a first level educational environment and will be linked to existing sectors.

The project has three pavilions around a small central dry square as a linking and recreational space for students. A fourth pavilion will become a small SUM and conference room.

The property destined for these purposes −located in the Educational Pole of Gualeguaychú− extends over 9,000 m2, of which 1,632 m2 will be covered and 7,450 m2 will constitute outdoor landscaped spaces, necessary for the development of laboratory practices.

About the National University Infrastructure Program

The Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of the Nation, carries out new constructions, extensions and spare parts for the National University System. The works are carried out together with the Secretariat for University Policies and include financing from the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and the National Treasury.

UNER is one of the 12 national universities that benefited from this stage, whose total investment will be 5 billion pesos. The works that UNER will carry out are estimated at close to 400 million pesos.

Within the framework of these announcements and in reference to the Veterinary Medicine career, which began to be taught in Gualeguaychú in 2019, Rector Sabella stated: “This type of infrastructure is essential for the development of quality academic and research activities that characterize our University. That is why we celebrate this signature, which gives us the responsibility to carry out the actions immediately”.

Sabella also stressed that “the University Infrastructure Plan continues to be executed and grow hand in hand with a Ministry of Education with very active policies regarding university investment, and a Government that invests not only in education, but also in science and technology. For this reason, we have expectations that at this stage the UNER will also receive other works, linked to careers that are taught in different cities of the province”.

In this sense, it is worth mentioning that this commitment is added to various infrastructure constructions that the University is executing, such as the gym and the dining room of the Concordia Technical High School, the new classroom pavilions for the Kinesiology career, in Villaguay.
