The Union of Employees in Private Health Institutions is moving forward with mobilizations. Dikaiou & NPID N. Achaia – 2024-03-25 22:05:36

The following is announced by the Union of Employees in Private Law Health Institutions & NHID of Achaia Prefecture:

The Private Health – Welfare – Special Education Sector Union welcomes all colleagues who participated in the great strike on February 28, taking a first decisive step for the sector to claim a Collective Labor Agreement (CBA), which will protect our income and working conditions rights. He greets the colleagues especially in areas that clashed not only with the employer but stood one step ahead even of business unions that did not take decisions to participate, as did the industry’s federation, OSNIE.

Just a few days before the nationwide strike on 28/2, the employers (SEK) informed the OSNIE board that “there is no money for all the workers and they will only pay the good workers, as they want. They propose an increase on the minimum wage, as it will be formed each time, up to 1% without any other allowance”.

They also clarified that they propose “to give the increases announced by the government, e.g. 780 euros and up to 1% increase in combination with the three years as defined in the minimum wage and no other allowance. That is, if a former employee has e.g. 100 euros of voluntary benefits, will not be set off”.

Employers in fact, having not been pressured at all by the “constant nagging and pressure” (!) of the IUCN, are in fact taking advantage of the legislative arsenal built up for them by all the governments of the previous years and effectively abolishing the concept of bargaining, recognizing only the basic minimum wage (which is also far from modern needs) as if they are hiring unskilled staff!

The cases especially in our area, where in 3 Foundations (MEREMNA, KIVOTOS AGAPIS & KONSTANTOPOULIO) are dominated by “non-payment”, “against” and the threat of dismissal should sound the alarm! Now is the time we need through our massive participation in the assertive struggle to respond to the attack we receive in all aspects of our lives!

Our outrage must be expressed and heard, out of the walls of the workplace. Now is the great opportunity to push for the SSE industry to claim, which will protect the income and rights of workers. Now that business contracts are signed in large workplaces and in large industries, sectoral collective agreements, with real wage increases (such as COSCO, E-food, builders), it is unacceptable in our industry that workers, especially younger colleagues, to be paid wages below this minimum wage determined by ministerial decision. It’s time to say no more! We don’t accept working for pocket wages when employers in the industry are breaking profit records one after the other.

The time has come to say no more to the mockery of the government which, 12 years after the first memorandum, continues to determine the minimum wage by ministerial decision based on the Vroutsis-Ahtsioglou memorandum law and to give an increase that does not even cover the enormous precision and the loss of income that all workers constantly experience.

Based on these memo laws instead of unfreezing the three years, it essentially erased 12 years of work from 2012 to now for the older colleagues and we end up getting nothing to little. These losses are not covered by the various government benefits, vouchers and passes, which are dust in the wind and do not cover our needs in the slightest.

For all these reasons, and many more, the workers in Private Health – Welfare – Special Education are striking and demanding alongside each other:

Signing of a Single, Universal, Mandatory, Collective Labor Agreement in the sector, based on the principle of the most favorable contract, with a general reduction of working time to 7 hours – 5 days – 35 hours, recognition of all three years including the period 2012 – 2023 and stable work with rights .€900 lower gross salary with reinstatement of all allowances (child, marriage, study, administrative error and screen, unhealthy work, position, maturation) and the special leaves of closed departments and reduced hours.
Here and now recruitment of permanent staff with full rights in Health, Welfare and Special Education.
Full state funding for all Welfare structures covering 100% of their needs. Stable payment of salaries and gifts without delays and “against”.
Immediate withdrawal of the draft law on Mental Health and Public and Free De-addiction – Strengthening of the “dry – clean” programs – Hands down from KETHEA!
