The United States allowed the Ukrainian command to choose the range of strikes using HIMARS systems, which could lead to attacks on Russian territory. US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink spoke about this.
“The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will independently decide on the range of strikes delivered using HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems,” Strana reports Brink’s words. She added that the American authorities plan to transfer HIMARS to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the very near future.
Until now, there has been no information about the transfer of shells to Ukraine for firing using HIMARS at distances over 160 kilometers. For strikes beyond this distance, Ukraine can only use ATACMS missiles, the publication concluded.
