The National University of Río Negro will deliver today in Bariloche the Doctorate Honoris Causa to the doctor Catalina Wainermanin recognition of her «academic eminence and extraordinary career as a researcher in the field of Social and Human Sciences«.
The honorary title is part of the series of distinctions that the university makes to outstanding women and that last month featured the vice president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchnerwith an act that took place in Viedma. Subtracts the delivery of the distinctions to Rita Segato and Dora Barrancos.
In this case, the UNRN highlights Wainerman and “recognizes and legitimizes her prolific intellectual work and honors her as inescapable reference in the scientific field, especially for his contributions to the training of researchers in social sciences«.
In the foundations of the distinction, the special contribution of Catalina Wainerman in the foundation of the UNRN Doctorates is singled out, both in the Mention in Social Sciences and Humanities – where she is a member of its academic committee and is a tenured professor of the Thesis Workshops -, as in the Doctorate in Higher University Education in a joint degree with the Inter-American Open University and the Austral University.
At the event, which will take place today at 5:00 p.m. in the university building on Anasagasti street in Bariloche and will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel, UNRN consulting professor Ana Domínguez Mon, professor of the Doctorate in Social Sciences and Humanities of the UNRN and of the Medicine career, will offer the laudatio conference. The honoree will then give a master class titled «Curiosity versus productivity, a current dilemma of the academy».
The delivery of the Doctorate Honoris Causa to Wainerman is part of the resolution in the Superior Councils of the UNRN for “the celebration of 40 years of democracy”, valuing “the exceptional trajectory and the academic and scientific merits of the three academics who contribute in favor of democracy as a system that crystallizes equality, parity, dialogue, secularism and pluralism of Argentine society”.
