The unusual minute: Zoom invites itself into Teslas, for videoconferences while driving

While Elon Musk is slowly destroying Twitter, his other company, Tesla, is “innovating” by teaming up with Zoom, the videoconferencing software that was the star of the first confinement.

The two companies have collaborated to develop a way to make video calls from a Tesla, taking advantage of the vehicle’s huge on-board screen, as well as the camera above the rearview mirror. A camera which, as a reminder, is normally used to control the driver’s level of attention when the autopilot mode is activated.

Tesla and Zoom did not specify a launch date, but the feature should be available on all new Tesla models. And logically, calls should only be allowed if the vehicle is stationary.
