A journalist asked Alessio Lisci how they were preparing to “try to save the category”, when the team fell to the Second Division with the defeat against Real Madrid.
Levante went down in La Liga in Spain: lost by an overwhelming 6-0 against Real Madrid in his visit to Santiago Bernabéu and fell to the Second Division of Spanish football. A detail that escaped a journalist at Alessio Lisci’s press conference after the match…
“Good evening, Mr. Lisci. I would like to ask you how your mood looks ahead of the two finals that you have left to try to save the category. Thank you very much”, was the question that completely unsettled the coach of the Valencian team at a press conference.
“We’re down, Eugene,” was the sharp response of the Levante coach to the journalist, before a very uncomfortable silence in the middle of the conference room at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
The Valencia team went to relegation in the absence of two dates for the end of La Liga: is last in the table, with 29 points, product of 6 wins, 11 draws and 19 losses. It will play the next season of the Second Division of Spanish football.
