Despite the fact that UAZ ended the last year with a profit, the financial condition Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant currently raises some questions. This confirms the decision of the management to find a strategic partner for him, who will either buy the enterprise or invest in the modernization of production facilities. However, the search for an investor may take a long time, when UAZ needs to update its model range right now.
With limited funding, a company can choose a simple solution. Instead of a global modernization, UAZ will be limited, in fact, to restyling, which will be carried out according to the “Chinese scheme”. That is, the company may deeply rework the body, retaining both the list of available equipment and the technical part.
The domestic designer announced the publication of a series of renders of the UAZ-469 Hunter 2022-2023, which was updated in this format. Judging by the presented images, the Russian SUV will retain its recognizable appearance after modernization. At the same time, UAZ, according to the designer, will make many point changes to the body configuration. Moreover, the SUV can be extended, which will accommodate up to three rows of seats in the cabin.
Such an update is quite plausible. This is explained by the fact that by choosing this approach, UAZ will simultaneously create an improved version of Hunter and spend relatively little money on development. Moreover, it will also keep the price of an SUV at an acceptable level. However, UAZ has not yet received information about the upcoming UAZ-469 Hunter 2022-2023 update. But the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has usually kept silent about any changes in the model range lately, reporting such information at the last moment.
