The US applauds Ecuador’s “strong condemnation” of Putin

The government of United States celebrated this Friday the “strong condemnation” of Ecuador to Russian President Vladimir Putinfor its invasion of Ukraine, and applauded the South American country’s commitment to human rights, to Venezuelan refugees and once morest corruption.

The United States Department of State issued a statement following the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Holguín, met in Washington with the US Undersecretary of State, Wendy Sherman.

“The undersecretary celebrated the strong condemnation of Ecuador to premeditated warwithout provocation and unjustified by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, once morest Ukraine,” US diplomacy said in a statement.

The US Government also recognized in the note the “regional leadership” of Ecuador in dealing with the climate crisis and promoting ecological conservation.

In addition, Sherman said that he hopes to continue working closely with Holguín to strengthen economic and security ties between the two countries.
