Al-Marsad newspaper: US President Joe Biden sparked a wave of laughter, when he talked about Christian and Islamic fasting, during a reception marking the end of Ramadan and the blessed Eid al-Fitr.
Biden appeared in a video, comparing Islamic and Christian fasting, as he joked that Christians face “more difficulties” than Muslims during fasting.
“The three major religions are similar in many ways, but I want you to know that you have a slight advantage in Ramadan: I have to fast for 40 days,” Biden said in his speech. 40 days without sweets and ice cream.”
The audience greeted Biden’s words with laughter at the meeting, which was attended by Muslim religious leaders and representatives of the community.
Biden added, “For the first time in decades, the holy days of the three Abrahamic faiths have converged at the same time. Think about it. Here’s a message guys. I really believe this.”
