The public’s use of generated artificial intelligence (AI) is growing rapidly. The latest data from key players in the industry illustrate this. Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg said on Friday that the Meta AI app, which can answer questions and create images, currently has 400 million monthly users. Meta AI is not yet available in the EU, UK, and Brazil.

On Thursday, rival OpenAI revealed to multiple media outlets that the well-known artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT is used by more than 200 million users every week. This means ChatGPT’s weekly user count has doubled since November.

Launched in November 2022, the chatbot revolutionizes the use of generative artificial intelligence for the masses. At the end of July, computer giant Microsoft reported that 77,000 enterprise customers were currently using the AI chatbot Copilot.

All three major AI applications offer free versions, although ChatGPT and Copilot have paid versions. The company is under a lot of pressure to prove that its AI chatbots will be adopted by the public, given the huge cost of deploying the technology.
