The Van Buuren Museum and its gardens (Uccle) inaugurated on Tuesday their entry into the European Route of Historic Gardens (ERHG), thus becoming the first Belgian space within the prestigious international network.

This museum, which owes its name to the spouses and art lovers Alice and David van Buuren, was built in 1928 and only opened to the public from 1975; the gardens, meanwhile, were designed by landscape architects Jules Buyssens and René Pechère, from the beginning of the twentieth century until the 1970s.
