The Venezuelan Authorities rejects the G7 assertion on the July presidential elections

Caracas, June 14 (EFE).- The Authorities of Venezuela rejected this Friday the assertion of the leaders of the G7 -Germany, Canada, the US, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom-, during which They requested the authorities of the Caribbean nation to permit worldwide commentary within the presidential elections on July 28 and respect the rights of the opposition.

«The decadent imperialism has by no means had such poor and ridiculous management because the one which the G7 reveals in the present day. Rejected by their very own individuals, they intend to resort to colonial practices and become involved in issues that don’t concern them,” the Minister of Overseas Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil, expressed in X.

The response from Nicolás Maduro’s Govt comes hours following the G7 printed its declaration -following the summit held in Italy-, during which they demanded “the tip of the harassment of members of the opposition and the speedy launch of all political prisoners”.

“Our revolutionary democracy will let you know this July 28, once more, that we’re free and sovereign and that its lackeys (in reference to the opposition grouped within the Democratic Unitary Platform, PUD) won’t return,” added the chancellor.

Within the summit declaration, the group of essentially the most industrialized democracies on the planet expressed their concern “in regards to the lack of progress within the implementation of the Barbados Settlement”, a pact of electoral ensures signed by the Authorities and the PUD final October.

Particularly, their concern is “with regard to the rights of the opposition throughout the electoral course of and the choice to withdraw the invitation for an electoral commentary mission” from the European Union (EU), one thing that had been agreed in Barbados. and it has been breached.

This assertion was celebrated by opposition chief María Corina Machado – who helps the PUD candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia -, who described it as “unequivocal assist” for democracy.
