The Veterinary Medicine Program, attached to the Faculty of Livestock Sciences of the University of Nariño, celebrated the delivery of badges to students who begin their professional practice.

The program in question trains professionals who have high analytical-epidemiological capacity in order to identify all the risk factors of disease for humans and their animals, to be able to plan and administer immediate control actions and measures for their prevention or eventual eradication, and to be able to evaluate the social, economic and even political implications to justify the adoption of action plans and strategies.

The Veterinary Medicine Program recognizes the training process of its students, which is why it awarded badges to students who carry out their work practice in the different public and private sectors. The gown is a symbol of recognition in their professional work, for this reason this insignia was awarded to 33 students in the tenth semester of the program.

“The delivery of gowns symbolizes what we veterinary doctors are, and from that point of view the students have assumed it as the fundamental event in the training process. There are 33 students who will receive the gown and will take the oath of Veterinary Medicine, this oath is what commits them to society, to the community to practice within the ethical and legal framework of our profession,” mentioned Bolívar Lagos. Figueroa, Dean of the Faculty of Livestock Sciences.

The Veterinary Doctors who are being trained at the University of Nariño respond to the needs managed by the productive sector, the challenges posed by animal welfare and society in general. It is for this reason that with great satisfaction the program delivers future professionals to the region.

Mayra Elizabeth Patiño, tenth semester students, shares “this is a very important event, it is the moment that many of us have waited for since the first day we stepped foot in the University, it is very significant because it is the culmination of years of effort and the projection to the region with our work as professionals.”

THE ALMA MÁTER CONGRATULATES THE FUTURE PROFESSIONALS IN VETERINARY MEDICINE AND WISHES SUCCESS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE.
