This started in 2017 when Ahmad Dhani seemed very vocal in the world of politics. Ahmad Dhani is considered too focused on politics to forget his music labels, including The Virgin.
Mitha admitted that this was not only felt by The Virgin, several bands made by Ahmad Dhani were also affected. Especially when Ahmad Dhani had to be detained because of a criminal case.
They were even banned from performing here and there because they were thought to have a relationship with Ahmad Dhani. At that time, The Virgin admitted that she lacked work so she decided to pursue her own career for an indefinite period of time.
“We really felt the impact. We also had our jobs banned and didn’t play gigs. We were scolded by our political opponents, we also got scolded at the airport. We felt it,” explained Mitha.
“Jobs automatically decreased. That’s why we decided to try to go our own way. If people want to invite The Virgin, they think that’s the way we are under Ahmad Dhani. That’s why we were accused of disbanding,” he continued.
Because of this, the music label Republik Cinta Management (RCM) was temporarily abandoned by Ahmad Dhani. At that time, The Virgin chose to continue on the Nagaswara label until now.
Even so, The Virgin did not immediately leave Ahmad Dhani and RCM. They admitted that they were still involved in Ahmad Dhani’s big project.
“Do you want to withdraw it (from RCM), but our contract with Mas Dhani is like a debt of gratitude. If Mas Dhani needs it, we will be there, we will continue to be there. There is no such thing as The Virgin leaving or Mas Dhani leaving The Virgin like that. We don’t have it. We “RCM management, Nagaswara label. We are still involved in Mas Dhani’s project,” explained Mitha.
