Today, our colleagues from iGeekphone report to us a leak that is interesting to say the least insofar as it provides details about the technical configuration of the X Fold 2.

A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip?

Apparently the Vivo X Fold 2 could integrate the chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. If you don’t know it yet, this processor is the new high-end SoC from the American founder Qualcomm. He is already in a number of premium devices and should also equip most of the flagships of 2023. Still according to the source of the media mentioned above, this future foldable smartphone from the Chinese firm which is part of the BBK Electronics conglomerate will sport a thin and light folding screen in 2K resolution.

A photo sensor provided by Sony?

In addition, the manufacturer would have provided support for ultrasonic fingerprints on both screens. Along with the X Fold 2, Vivo is reportedly considering introducing a new panel which in addition to being thinner and more resistant, would offer better graphic rendering. Note that compared to conventional fingerprint readers, reading fingerprints on the screen using ultrasound is faster. The technology also provides better security while being more resistant to interference.

We also know that the Vivo X Fold 2 could sport a 50 megapixel Sony IMX866 camera OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) compatible. In addition to this model, the constructor would work on a another foldable smartphone that could debut in 2023. Decidedly, next year will see multiple models of foldable devices land on the market!
