The voter turnout in Lebanon’s elections abroad so far has reached 41.37%.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry indicated that the percentage of general voting outside Lebanon, as of 6 pm this Friday, amounted to 41.37%.

Today, Friday, the National News Agency reported that the number of Lebanese voters abroad reached 12,797 out of 30930 voters, as of 6:00 pm today, Beirut time, and the overall percentage reached 41.37%, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the agency, the voting process has started in 10 countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Syria, the Sultanate of Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq and Iran.

Iran received the highest percentage of the vote, reaching 71.81%, followed by Syria with 70.63%.

Elections will be held abroad in two batches, today, Friday, in nine Arab countries and in Iran, while expatriates will vote in 48 other countries next Sunday.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati visited the Operations Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inspect the conduct of parliamentary elections in Arab and Islamic countries, which adopt Friday as a weekly holiday.

During the visit, Mikati said: “I reviewed the statistics on the elections and thank the diplomatic corps at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mikati also thanked the Lebanese University volunteers who continue to work in every pen.”

The Director General of Expatriates at the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadi Hashem, said in a press statement that “minor violations occurred during the voting process for the Lebanese in the diaspora, and they were addressed immediately, and the voting process is proceeding calmly and within the legal frameworks.”

103 electoral lists comprising 718 candidates distributed over 15 electoral districts are competing in the elections to select 128 deputies in Parliament.
