Reported by IGN and Gamespot, the news broke in the most recent financial report from the studio. Without giving in-depth details, CD Projekt RED briefly mentioned that it would be a “story-driven, open-world single-player RPG.”

CD Projekt RED said nothing further about the game, reiterating its comments from October that it will be some time before we have more details on the project.

«The Witcher is where it all began for CD Projekt RED. It was the first game we made, and it was a big moment for us at the time. Going back to it and updating it for the next generation of gamers to experience is just as grand, if not grander,” said Adam Badowski, studio head at CD Projekt RED, last month. The remake will be rebuilt from the ground up using the Unreal Engine 5 and the toolset that CD Projekt RED has created for the new saga The Witcher.

While waiting for its release, we remind you that next December is coming the update of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt for next-gen consoles. The Polish studio had confirmed that players who already own the game will be entitled to it completely free of charge.
