The “Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year” group is considered the most serious organization of the groups that choose cars of the year, since they are not sold so that manufacturers invite them to events and are pressured to choose some lemon, as happens always with those other groups.
Replacing the word World with Worldwide in the team name will be the first step in a strategy that aims to bring together the voices of all female drivers, regardless of their country of origin, culture, race, age or creed.
Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year will be the new name of the organization, which since its inception has fought to give visibility to women in the automotive world.
“It is a slight name change, but very important at a strategic level because our mission is not only to choose the best cars of the year, but also to ensure that there is a considerable representation of women in the automotive sector,” says Marta García, president WWCOTY executive.
Today, the Women’s World Car of the Year is made up of 75 professionals who, through their media, provide qualified information about what is happening in motorsports around the world.
WWCOTY’s 500 million viewers are proof that the expectations with which WWCOTY was born in 2009 have been far exceeded.
The “Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year” award will continue to grow in 2024, rewarding the best cars, the best initiatives and drawing attention to everything that can contribute to increasing the visibility of women in the automotive industry.
For this reason, the word World will be replaced by World Cup. A new year begins for the Women’s World Car of the Year.
