The Xiaomi 13 Ultra does not quite achieve the performance of the Apple iPhone 14 in the DxOMark audio analysis

2023-07-10 09:50:00

As the frequency diagram shows, the speakers of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra have weaknesses in the mids, which is why the sound can sound a bit thin in a direct comparison with the best competitors. However, DxOMark certifies the sound as having a solid three-dimensionality and an acceptable maximum volume of 71.4 dB – the flagships from Apple and Samsung are each around 3 dB louder.

There are two major weaknesses in the recording. On the one hand, wind noise cannot be effectively filtered, so speech can be much more difficult to understand than on the iPhone 14 Pro Max or even on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, sound overdrives at very high volumes, such as at concerts.
