A bar acquaintance turned out to be a real nightmare for a woman from Bregenz, Austria. In the morning hours of December 24th, the 28-year-old met a man in a bar in Bregenz. They decided to rent a room in a hotel together.
While the woman went to the toilet, her companion stole around 1,000 euros from her wallet, according to the Vorarlberg State Police Department. The 28-year-old only noticed this theft when she wanted to buy cigarettes at the train station.
When she came back and asked the man about the missing money, he denied taking the money. According to police, an argument then developed which resulted in the man hitting the woman several times. The injured woman then called the police emergency number and the man fled towards the train station.
Through investigations in the local area and interviews with passers-by, in which twelve radio patrols were involved, the PI Bregenz officers managed to find out the man’s identity. The man wanted is a 31-year-old Kosovar citizen living in Konstanz. He will be reported to the public prosecutor.
