A teenager in a stolen vehicle caused an accident before fleeing on Highway 40 in Montreal early Saturday morning.
It was around 5 a.m. Saturday morning that patrol officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) tried to intercept a vehicle. The driver, a 15-year-old boy, refusing to stop, a pursuit began. During its escape, the vehicle struck a concrete wall installed in a construction zone.
“The suspect, who was not injured in the accident, then fled on foot,” said Marythé Bolduc, spokesperson for the SQ, adding that the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal came to help search the area.
The suspect was quickly found and the police arrested him. He could face charges of receiving, absconding, dangerous driving and breach of probation.
