According to the Cheboksary plant KMZ, last year 204,927 general-purpose trailers for cars were produced in Russia. These are trailers for the transport of various goods, snowmobiles and water equipment, as well as commercial and industrial purposes. Over the past 15 years, this market has increased by 4.5 times and for the first time exceeded the mark of 200 thousand units. According to this indicator, we almost caught up with Germany: in 2021, 215,170 light trailers were produced there, including 113,160 units equipped with brakes (this share is not given in Russia).
Now prices for light trailers in Russia start at about 45 thousand rubles. According to Autostat, as of January 1, 2021, 3.44 million trailers and semi-trailers of all weight categories were registered in the country, and their fleet grew by 48% over the previous decade.
