A total of 21 people have been arrested for alleged collaboration and links with the group of Armed Terrorist Drug Traffickers of Colombia (Tancol), according to the reports presented by the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) of the entity on the procedures carried out from January to July this year.

This Monday afternoon a man and a woman were detained in the 5 de Julio sector, San Félix, after GNB officers found a 12-gauge Covavenca shotgun in their possession, with no visible serial numbers.

During the procedure, it was found that the pair is part of the collaborators of Tancol “La Grúa” in the Caroní municipality, for which they were transferred to the entity’s 62nd zone command.

Those arrested and the evidence collected were placed at the order of the Public Ministry

on patrol

At a Citizen Security meeting held on June 21 in Puerto Ordaz, the representatives of the police and military agencies agreed to undertake deployments to carry out seizures of drugs, firearms, neutralization and dismantling of Tancol.

The 21 detainees counted by PRIMICIA were in different areas of Bolívar state, such as Tumeremo, Caicara del Orinoco, Casa Blanca, Bella Vista and San Félix.

Said apprehensions occurred during preventive patrolling, and in the course of the same, seizures of drug packages, firearms and penetrating needles, ammunition, and cash were made.

More than 1,000 cartridges of different calibers, pistol grips and pipes to consume narcotic substances have been collected.

In addition, two people linked to Tancol were executed in alleged clashes in Caicara del Orinoco and Tumeremo in January and April of this year.

The Colombian government affirms that the leaders of the gangs flee to Venezuela because the army of their country cannot enter, because it would incur an invasion of sovereignty and a war would start.
