The Super Bowl 2023 is casting its shadow. In February, the NFL fans in Frankfurt turn night into day once more. The game will be shown at these locations.
Glendale/Frankfurt – An exciting, because so unpredictable, regular season in the NFL has come to an end and the playoffs in the world’s best American football league were tough. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face off in the 2023 Super Bowl. When and where the biggest NFL game of the year will take place has of course long been known – and so are in Frankfurt already planned several big watch parties.
Thus, neither of the two teams from the Super Bowl 2022 made it into the NFL finals once more: Last year’s winners, the Los Angeles Rams, did not make it into the playoffs following a season to forget, with many injuries. In February of last year, the Rams won the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy at their home SoFi Stadium in LA. The Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals by 23:20. In 2023, the Super Bowl will take place on Monday, February 13, at 12:30 a.m. (CET) in Glendale, Arizona. Cincinnati narrowly failed to re-enter the Super Bowl. The Ohio team lost the AFC Championship Game to Kansas City.
Super Bowl 2023: Date, halftime show and NFL watch parties in Frankfurt
The 60 minutes of football are not the only reason why the Super Bowl is always a big highlight in the annual TV calendar. Commercials are also produced in the USA especially for the NFL event and are a topic of conversation for days followingwards.
Not only NFL fans are particularly looking forward to the halftime show once more this year. A music act traditionally occurs between the second and third quarters of the Super Bowl game – and the NFL only relies on the very biggest. In 2022, hip-hop legends Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg along with 50 Cent and Eminem. This year pop superstar Rihanna is ready for the big show.

If you don’t want to watch the game at home in Frankfurt, you have many options on the night from Sunday, February 12th, to Monday. Many bars, pubs and sports bars are open all night especially for the Super Bowl and often also offer typical American food.
But there are also real events, so-called watch parties, outside of the well-known gastronomy – for example around the Zeil, in Sachsenhausen or Bornheim. Deutsche Bank Park invites all football fans to the stadium to watch the pack: “Follow the final on one of the screens or numerous large-screen TVs in the exclusive ambience of the Adler Business Club. Experience the spectacular halftime show and enjoy burgers, wraps, chicken wings and much more.” Admission begins at 9 p.m. A ticket costs 12 euros.
A big Super Bowl party can also be experienced in the Frankfurt cinemas CineStar Metropolis at Eschenheimer Tor and Astor Film Lounge in MyZeil. Tickets here cost 10 euros and admission begins at 10:40 p.m. (csa)
