“There has to be only one head”

Luis Caputo This Wednesday he rejected the possibility that Mauricio Macri -and the troop of PRO leaders who could accompany him- formally join the Government of Javier Milei because he considered that “there has to be only one head” in the Executive. However, he promoted the rapprochement of political forces in Congress, where he saw a viable agreement because the two leaders “think alike.”

“At the Congress level it is natural because we think alike. At the Executive level there does not have to be (alliance) because there has to be only one head”stated the Minister of Economy on the TN signal.

The statement is not minor if we take into account that he is one of the first libertarian bishops in mark the limit to an agreement with the PRO and that the Minister of Economy was part of the former president’s cabinet.

However, Caputo said that he has a “very good relationship” with Mauricio Macrialthough had no influence on his appointment for the Ministry of Economy.

Luis Caputo said that Mauricio Macri had no interference in his appointment as minister of Javier Milei.

“I became minister for the presidentI have a very good relationship with Macri and I met him in public office. It was Milei who convinced me and my wife who left me,” he said.

It is known that the minister has a filial bond with Santiago Caputopresidential advisor and one of Javier Milei’s most trusted cadres: is his uncle.

The possible alliance between Milei and Macri has gained strength in recent weeks, especially after the Omnibus Law did not prosper in Congress. There, some internal questions appeared in the Government with requests that the former president had made and that the current president ignored.

One of them was the incorporation of officials who do not know the so-called “button box” of the Statesuch as the case of the Chief of Staff, Nicolas Posseand the non-election of Cristian Ritondo as president of the Chamber of Deputies. Martín Menem was appointed to that position.

For his part, Mauricio Macri met this week with the PRO small table on two important issues: one, that they can guarantee Milei the approval of the failed Omnibus Law – or whatever arises to replace it -, and that of the election of party authorities.

On this last point, the former president is on his way to being elected as head of the force he created due to the majority leadership support that counts, beyond a negotiation and agreement with Patricia Bullrich, current Minister of Security.

In this context, Milei and Macri would soon have an approach to exchange visions and intentions regarding an integration between La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and the PRO, especially for the 2025 legislative elections.

The official indicated that investors “they are seeing how the opposition acts”given what the President proposes.

“The President is imposing conditions with a level of conviction that has never been seen before. He went to Davos, gave a strong speech and had an impressive impact. There are many people who want May Argentina do well because of the President’s ideas“he highlighted.
