At the beginning of November, Śląsk Wrocław defeated Cracovia away 1-0 after a goal by Matias Nahuel, who put the ball past Sebastian Madejski in the 15th minute. Nahuel was suspended for four matches, but the club’s authorities, believing that it was too severe a punishment, appealed against the decision. On Thursday, December 14, it was announced that despite the attempts, the position had been maintained. “The request to suspend the penalty of Matias Nahuel Leiva was rejected by the League Commission. The Spaniard will not be able to play in the match against Zagłębie,” it was written on Twitter.
Matias Nahuel came to Śląsk in July 2022, signing a two-year contract with the club. For just over a year, he played a total of 48 matches for his current employer, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. Transfermarkt values the 27-year-old midfielder at PLN 900,000. euro.
After 18 rounds, Śląsk is leading the Ekstraklasa table with 38 points. Jagiellonia is second (37 points), while Lech Poznañ is third (32 points). Jacek Magiera’s players will play their next match on Friday, December 15, when they will face Zagłębie Lubin away.
